Superstition Community Food Bank (SCFB) recently received 1,936 pounds of food valued at $3,000 and a $1,000 cash donation from Notre Dame Preparatory School. Thirty students from the Scottsdale parochial school, working in conjunction with K2 Adventures Foundation, participated in a Grocery Games Competition for the benefit of the food bank. Eleven 3-member teams were each given $300 in gift cards to purchase an equal amount of most-needed food items at Bashas’ and check out within 45 minutes. The students then went on to volunteer their time in sorting and organizing the grocery items at the food bank warehouse.

K2 Adventures Foundation combines philanthropy and community service to positively affect the lives of individuals with life challenges and disabilities in the U.S. and around the globe. They brought the students to SCFB and have pledged a twice a year campaign to support the food bank with food, funding, and volunteerism. For more information about the K2 foundation visit www.k2adventures.org. For food bank needs, donations, and volunteer opportunities, visit www.superstitionfoodbank.org. The Superstition Community Food Bank is located at 575 N Idaho Rd, Suite 101, in Apache Junction.
