Dear Friends of the Food Bank,

The Superstition Community Food Bank finishes 2022 off strong with our Holiday Meal Kit Distributions & Golf Tournament.

Through the kindness and generosity of our community, along with partnerships with local & national organizations, we were able to distribute Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Meal Kits for families to take home and cook all the festive fix‘ns. These kits included a: turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn, green beans, cream soup, mac n’ cheese, milk, butter, eggs, cake mix, canned fruit…and a partridge in a pear tree! We really made every effort to bring joy to families this holiday season. We will be putting together a similar kit for Easter and a smaller BBQ kit for the 4th of July holiday for families to enjoy those holidays as well!

Our Annual Golf Tournament was a huge success. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day at the Gold Canyon Gold Resort, Dinosaur Mountain Course. Fun, Food, Fundraising and GOLF, it was a blast. We will celebrate our 4th golf tournament in our 40th year by playing again–where it all began, the Dinosaur Course at Gold Canyon Golf Resort. You don’t want to miss this year’s tournament, so pencil us on your calendar for Tuesday, December 19th.

January 2023 kicked off our 40th Anniversary Year of Celebration. The Food Bank was established back in 1983 when a few community heroes realized that folks in our area needed assistance with feeding themselves and their families. Over the last 40 years, we have grown from helping a couple dozen individuals and families to helping 37,644 individuals and 13,916 families last year.

We kicked off our major fundraising campaign for the year… $40,000 for our 40th Anniversary through $40 donations! Sounds easy, right? Get a thousand folks to donate $40 and we will reach our goal. Please help us spread the word or contribute if you can.

We also launched our High 5 Club. If you want to give the Food Bank a High 5, simply
visit our website and sign up to donate $5 monthly (less than a cup of coffee) through our automated donation feature. We’re hoping that many small donations add up to greatness for the Food Bank.

We also encourage you to contribute and take advantage of a tax credit for your
donation! Under Arizona law (A.R.S. § 43-1088(G)(2), Apache Junction Reach Out, Inc. dba Superstition Community Food Bank is recognized as a Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO), QCO code 20221. You may be eligible to receive a FULL ARIZONA STATE TAX CREDIT, up to $400 (filing as a single unmarried head of household) or $800 (married filing joint return) for donating to the Superstition Community Food Bank.

Last, we invite you to CELEBRATE our 40th with us at Barleens in Apache Junction. We are having our celebration on Friday April 21, 2023. Tickets are $60 per person or $500 for an “Exclusive-VIP” table for eight. The evening will feature dinner, dancing, a live show, lottery board, paddles, 50/50 raffle, silents auction & MORE.
