Just a few hours a week of your time – morning or afternoon – can be more rewarding and healthier than you imagine. Volunteers are the very reason the Superstition Community Food Bank can help 15,000 families a year and keep its nonprofit administrative costs below 7%.

Here is a sampling of the many opportunities that help the Food Bank continue its mission to serve families in need in the East Valley:

Be an Ambassador: Champion our cause in your neighborhood, church, civic organization, etc., by organizing food drives and donation drop-offs and pick-ups. Consider some of the ways listed here that you can help or call us with an idea.

Help on a Committee: Bring your skills and enthusiasm to help on one of our working committees, annual golf tournament, outreach programs or special events.

Host an Event: Local businesses help our cause by hosting events such as shred-a-thons, community concerts or dinners with proceeds and food collected to benefit the food bank.

Serve as a Board Member: Share your business experience to help run our “company,” and meet needs, challenges and opportunities to ensure our continued success.

Organize Food Drives: Use our food drive kit and boxes to easily organize food drives in your neighborhood or RV Park, church, business or community group.

Use Change Jars at Your Business: contact us for an Superstition Community Food Bank change jar for your countertops or office. Every bit of change helps. A dedicated board member will work with you and pick up regularly.

Collect Recyclables: Youth groups and other local organizations can help by donating recycling. We can accept water or other beverage bottles (like Gatorade) and aluminum cans ONLY. We cannot accept plastic containers, milk jugs or paper. We can always use egg containers and grocery bags.

Donate Money: Thanks to our partnerships, we can buy $5 worth of food for every $1 donation. With administration costs below 7%, we run on a slim budget, and 93% of our donations go to direct services for qualified families of the East Valley. You can donate online at www.superstitionfoodbank.org under the DONATE button. You also can mail or drop off your donation to Superstition Community Food Bank, 575 N. Idaho Road Suite #701, Superstition Community Food Bank, AZ 85119.
