The Second Annual Gerald Hundt Memorial Golf Tournament will be hosted Sept. 9 by the Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club with all proceeds going to Superstition Community Food Bank.
“Save the date — Thursday, Sept. 9 — for a full day that will include breakfast, lunch, golf, awards and raffle prizes,” according to a release. “Superstition Mountain’s Nicklaus-designed courses promise golfers a spectacular tee-to-green golfing experience while they will be supporting the food bank’s mission to feed the hungry in East Valley communities.”
The golf course is at 8000 E. Club Village Drive in Gold Canyon.
The food bank is working on a major fundraising campaign to meet a critical need for expansion of its freezer/refrigeration capacity for protein-related foods and perishables, the release states.
Each player is required to donate five to 10 cans of non-perishable food and a case of water. Register before Aug. 20 at dixongives.com/SCFB.
Individual registration of $200 — or a four-person team registration of $800 — includes a grab-and-go breakfast, sit-down lunch, awards and raffle prizes, according to the website.
In addition to players, promoters are seeking donors and sponsors for multiple tournament events, awards and raffle prizes.
Potential donors and sponsors are invited to contact tournament director Myra Garcia at [email protected] or 480-983-2995.
The Superstition Community Food Bank is a 501(c)3 organization that works with volunteers and partners to provide food services to qualified individuals and families in East Valley Communities with kindness, respect and dignity.
